Client

Sony Computer Entertainment is a video game company specializing in variety of video game areas, mostly in the area of video game consoles.

Challenge

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s PlayStation2 web registration site was performing poorly with low turnover rates. They decided to test the current process with users and use the results as an input into the redesign of the site.

Solution

Alongside the lead information architect, I worked with the Sony team to identify their target demographic and recruit participants. After developing detailed test plans and scripts, I led a usability testing program that took users through the registration process using the ‘think aloud’ protocol. Key issues were identified and catalogued in a detailed report which included potential design improvements.
