How I’m integrating blogs on my homepage
A few different people have asked me how I’m integrating blogs on my homepage, so here’s a quick and dirty tutorial:
- Download and install the MT plugins Multiblog and Compare.
Include the following code where you would normally include
MTEntries:<MTMultiBlogEntries include_blogs="b1,b2" lastn="n">b1 and b2 are the blog_id numbers and n is the last number of combined posts you wish to display.
Include the following code before the start of your entries from your first blog:
<MTIfEqual a="[MTBlogID]" b="b1">b1 is the blog_id of your the first blog you’re including.
- Customize the markup of the entries for your first blog.
- Close off the
MTIfEqualtag. Include the following code before the start of your entries from your second blog:
<MTIfEqual a="[MTBlogID]" b="b2">b2 is the blog_id of the second blog you’re including.
- Customize the markup of the entries for your second blog.
- Close off the
MTIfEqualtag. - Close off the
MTMultiBlogEntriestag.
If you want to see exactly how I’m doing this, please refer to my main index template. Or if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I’ll try to help.
Music Baton
It was only a matter of time before someone passed me the music baton. This one came from Kevin Cheng.
Total volume of music on my computer
I don’t store any music on my iBook. My entire iTunes library is stored on Da Vinci, our external firewire hard drive, which currently contains 59.66 GB.
Last CD I bought
The soundtrack to Amores Perros
Song that’s on right now
Subotnick by Caribou (formerly Manitoba)
Five songs I currently listen to a lot
- Drop the Pressure by Mylo
- Disco Infiltrator by LCD Soundsystem
- At the Bottom of Everything by Bright Eyes
- Que Onda Guero by Beck
- Lucha De Gigantes by Nacha Pop
Who gets the baton next?
