Music Notes

I love music. However, I don’t talk about music very much on unraveled because I rarely have much to say about it beyond the most basic comments. The same goes for many cultural topics, notably movies and art. I know what I like and dislike, but unless I think I have something new or at least mildly interesting to say, I won’t say it. This is true to some degree for most topics, but it’s particularly true for music, film and art.

That said, I have two music notes:

  1. Junior Senior’s performance at The Astoria last Thursday was awesome. The band is only two people, but there were six people on stage in order to fill all the musical parts. These guys understand what makes a great pop song and don’t apologize for the inherent cheesiness that comes with it. In a nutshell, some of the most fun, danceable, feel good music I’ve heard live in a long time.
  2. OK/Cancel, the world’s first weekly HCI comic, just released their first single, We Got It, the world’s first HCI rap. Yes, a rap song about human computer interaction and one of the silliest things I’ve heard in a long time.

Comments

  1. OMG, I’ve never heard of anything like that (OK/Cancel). I’ve always been facinated at how tech and culture get mangled together. Do they have a website or something?
