Roundup: Term End
- BurnoutMenu is a slick little menubar app that displays to do lists and integrates with iCal. iCal is great, but I love the ability to quickly manage to do items from the menubar. If you also want menubar access to your iCal calendar, MiCal may be the app for you.
- Widgetopia is a new weblog by the elegant Christina Wodtke. It’s a “Collection of widgets and UI elements from various websites.” I was thinking about setting up a very similar blog about a year ago, but quickly realized that my attention span is too short to run a topic-specific blog.
- Jason Zada is one of the most talented designers and enjoyable weblogs I’ve had the pleasure of reading lately.
- The first term is over after ending with a two week ergonomics project, during which our team redesigned a grocery checkout. Up next term: organizational informatics, design practice, design tools & techniques and computational HCI. Until then, we have almost a full month off, during which I’ll be working on a few papers - including my thesis proposal, doing some freelance web development, exploring London and visiting my parents in Sarasota, Florida. The short plan for my ten days in Sarasota: spend quality time with my family, catch up on all the films I missed over the past three months, eat a lot of good food, drink many gin and tonics and finish a paper. Posts will likely be sparse, so if you don’t hear from me before 2004, have a great holiday and an even better new year. Cheers!
- Update: I should also mention ExecutiveSync which has flawlessly kept all of my coursework files synchronized between my iBook and iMac on a daily basis. Highly recommended.
