- Why is there no built-in keyboard shortcut for Zoom on OS X? A quick scan of menu commands in most apps reveals that Zoom is one of the few commands without a shortcut.
- As a student, I need to read lots of research papers, and I don’t always want to download each paper to my hard disk just to read it. The free PDF Browser Plugin makes up for Preview and Acrobat Reader’s inability to display PDF documents within the browser. It displays PDFs just like any web page: no toolbars, no clutter, adding only the page number in the lower right corner of the window. And if I do need to save it or open it another app, it’s only a right-click away.
Update: There’s still no built-in keyboard shortcut for Zoom in OS X version 10.3, but you can now easily add it using the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Keyboard & Mouse System Preferences. This is a very welcome addition to OS X.

why doesn’t mac start using more button on their mouse? because they’re stubborn. they’ll introduce a mousewheel next convention and the zealots will all tout is as sliced bread.

Yes, Apple is stubborn. But not everyone is a power user. Basic commands never require an option-click (right-click). In fact, I can do everything I need to do on my Mac and never touch the option key (or the right mouse button). However, since I am a power user, I appreciate the convenience of a right mouse button and use it often. So I believe they should offer an Apple branded two button mouse, but definitely keep the one button mouse for those that don’t need or don’t want two buttons.

On the iBook, the headphone jack is actually on the left side and it’s the nearest plug to the user. Some may prefer it to be on the front, but by keeping it on the side, it keeps the cord out of the way.
